Papua New Guinea - Ramale Elementary School

It is our pleasure and with much gratitude that MSC Mission Office aided us in purchasing a new 5000 litres water tank for Ramale Elementary School. Due to volcanic irregular ash fall, our two previous iron water tanks corroded and eventually leaked afterwards resulting in their complete damage and contents very much contaminated. We then purchased a 4000 litres tuffa tank but could hardly cater for students when it comes to dry season.

For the last couple of years, between August – October, when rain rarely falls, classes were called off because the tank ran out of water. This new tank will serve 60 students and 3 teachers and of course the community that lives nearby numbering almost 300. Your financial assistance was sufficient for the tank and it eased off our shoulders a lot of financial worries. The School board of Management met all other costs pertaining to materials such as tap, pipes and gutters, transport and its installation. It was eventually installed on 7th March 2014. We could not have made this possible but with your generosity, our children can now attend school without worrying to carry water pitches to school since water is now at their disposal.

Thank you very much and may God continue to bless you and contributors for supporting this basic need for our survival.

Benedict Mode, Chairman of the Board of Management – Ramale Elementary School
